Lead Designer

Kirk Waterman
Born in 1968 and raised in Mission Viejo, later moving to San Clemente and Dana Point. As a child I loved to draw and paint. At age 5, I started private painting lessons with several different art teachers, which increasingly stirred my passions for art, and creating.
As I grew older I fell in love with the ocean and surfing. I continued with private drawing/painting lessons and classes throughout my youth. As a kid, during the summers I would work at my dad's paint store, when I was a teen I worked for Dunn-Edwards Paints filling orders, and mixing paint. After I graduated high school I worked as a roofer, pool maintence and repairman, and as a wine salesman but always wanted to make a living creating art.
In 1990 I enrolled at Platt College in Irvine, Ca. graduating with top honors in Graphic Design and Computer Graphics. After graduation I worked for several years as a freelance artist for several different surf wear and clothing companies , screen printers designing t-shirts and logos, and landscape companies creating plot plans for client and city approval.
In 1997 I was offered a chance to work with a unique and talented, European muralist. What some may consider "A Modern Day Master". From him, I was trained first hand at the elaborate recreations of fresco style murals, antiquing, Italian Renaissance and Victorian Architectural detailing, and in the decorative artistry of Trompe L'Oeil. A technique that dates back to the Greek and Roman times. A skill which can be used to create extraordinary impressions of three-dimensional objects and scenery. My journey as an artist is never-ending, I consider this just the beginning of an inspiring road ahead of me and look forward to the many new and exciting challenges I will experience in my future creations!

The samples below are logos that we have created. We've included samples that are not trucking-related, as many of our customers are involved in businesses other then trucking. As stated previously, most trucking logos do not use a truck. Rather, they are dependent upon their tagline / slogan. Many people want to show a truck and a globe, or a truck and a map of the United States, but those should be just the starting points for your ideas. Almost all small trucking companies use a truck & some kind of map, but the larger trucking companies brand their image in many ways. Take Schneider for example. They have used their signature orange color in their logo for print, and they use a black version of the logo on their orange trucks. If you see an orange truck going down the road, you can pretty much bet it is going to be a Schneider truck without even looking at the logo. The samples below are simply meant to show you some of the design work we've done in the past:
